About This Site

ThreadPool is an independent publication launched in January 2025 by Jay Cruz. For now, it’s completely free while I figure out what’s truly valuable to readers. Eventually, it’ll be a freemium model—similar to Substack, but without the Nazis, where some content remains free while deeper insights or premium posts might be subscriber-only.

At its core, ThreadPool is about tech—but not in the usual way. It’s written from the perspective of someone learning to program, becoming a programmer, and navigating the chaos of breaking into the industry. Expect personal experiences, hard-earned lessons, and hopefully some insights on the craft of making software.

This is mostly a personal blog, but with the ridiculous aspiration of making it into a niche publication—something in the spirit of 404 Media, but for programmers, learners, and tech outsiders trying to break in.
