Not Everything Has to Be a Big Thinky Thought
pepe the frog saying feels good man

I have started many blogs. I wasn't there from the very beginning, but I've been at it since the early aughts. I've had an account on Blogger, WordPress, Tumblr, Squarespace, and Medium. I have abandoned most of these blogging platforms.

I've been semi-consistent about writing words and putting them on the internet, at best. At worst, I just go dark. I just run out of steam. Run out of things to say. Lose interest in certain topics that I thought I was about.

I run out of big thinky thoughts so I stop posting.

It's obvious that this is a mistake, so I'm trying to just get back to the basics of this. To relax. To not take this so seriously. I don't get paid to write creative non-fiction for the New Yorker. Not everything has to be an essay, a big argument about a big topic. An informed critique or opinion. A Big Thinky Thought.

I'm slowly getting back to enjoying the things I love and giving myself permission to just shoot the shit like I'm doing right now with this post.

I'm catching up with my book reading. For a few years now I've been trying to read 50 books in a year. I think I might be able to reach that goal this year.

I subscribed to the Criterion Channel and I'm really excited about it. It's almost embarrassing. Overall I'm just watching movies again with intent. Putting the phone away and just getting lost with moving pictures and stories.

I'm also running again and training to run a 10k.

I'm feeling good. I'm feeling healthier.

Feels good, man.
